Dr. Michael C. Nicoson, MD is a board-certified plastic and reconstructive surgeon specializing in the advanced treatment of the hand and wrist. As a founding partner of Hand and Wrist of Louisville, Dr. Nicoson combines elite surgical training with a commitment to restoring function and quality of life for his patients.

Dr. Nicoson’s clinical expertise covers a broad spectrum of conditions, from common issues like carpal tunnel syndrome and hand fractures to complex nerve and blood vessel injuries. He has a particular interest in sports-related injuries, pediatric hand deformities, and the management of arthritis.

A graduate of the University of Louisville School of Medicine, Dr. Nicoson completed a rigorous residency in Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery at Washington University in St. Louis. He further refined his skills through a prestigious fellowship in Orthopedic Hand and Microsurgery at the Mayo Clinic. Beyond the operating room, he is a dedicated researcher whose award-winning work on nerve regeneration has been published in leading medical journals.
